It is NOT required for first-time clients; most children can book a regular haircut directly. Because the visit is short and focused, it reduces pressure on the child and the family: there is no haircut performed, and the session gives everyone a chance to see if a full appointment is appropriate. A deposit is required, it goes towards the appointment total, and is non-refundable, so families should decide based on comfort needs and timing.
What happens during the visit
During this 20-minute, $20 meet & greet we let your child explore the salon in a low-pressure way, introduce the stylist without expectations, review haircut goals and preferences, and discuss any sensory needs or comfort strategies. No cutting or styling takes place; the purpose is familiarization and planning so the follow-up appointment goes more smoothly.
The stylist will talk through preferred approaches and any accommodations that help your child stay comfortable. Afterward you may pre-book the next haircut appointment. The short format works well for local families who appreciate easy access from Loop 101 and nearby spots like Desert Ridge Marketplace.
