What happens during visit
This 20-minute intro visit is a brief, low-pressure orientation for children who may benefit from meeting their stylist and seeing the salon before a haircut. We use the time to introduce the stylist, walk through the space, and review haircut goals and preferences. The service fee is $20; that payment is collected up front and applied to a future appointment as a deposit.
No haircut is performed during this visit. It’s an optional step — not required for first-time clients — and intended for nervous children, first-haircut situations, or sensory-sensitive kids who will feel more comfortable after an initial introduction. After the visit you can pre-book your child’s next appointment and the deposit will be credited toward that booking.
How we reduce child anxiety
The visit focuses on lowering anxiety through familiarity: the child meets the stylist in a calm setting, explores the salon at their own pace, and practices sitting in the chair without pressure. We ask parents about specific sensitivities and preferences so the stylist can plan a haircut approach that respects comfort needs and avoids surprises on the actual appointment day.
Because the meeting is limited to 20 minutes, we prioritize relationship-building and information gathering rather than grooming. Families who commute from Scottsdale or North Phoenix appreciate short, targeted visits that fit into busy schedules — the salon’s easy access from Loop 101 makes after-work or midday orientation visits practical for local parents and caregivers.
Booking, deposits and next steps
The New Client Meet & Greet costs $20 and that fee acts as a non-refundable deposit toward a future haircut appointment. The deposit secures the introductory slot and is applied to the appointment total when you book the child’s next visit. Because the payment is non-refundable, we recommend scheduling only when you are reasonably certain you will keep the reservation.
After the meet & greet you can pre-book the child’s haircut with the stylist who led the introduction. The salon’s Thunderbird Corridor location near Desert Ridge Marketplace and Loop 101 makes it easy to combine this short visit with errands or nearby activities, which can help reduce stress on the day of the haircut itself.
